State's Best Companies to Work for ... Are Hiring

Oklahoma has more than its share of the "100 Best Companies to Work for in America," according to Fortune Magazine. And those companies are hiring.

American Fidelity is looking for professionals in IT, risk management, accounting and tax, account representatives, and support positions in its Oklahoma City office. The company's most common jobs are in customer service and in commissioned sales jobs that average almost $96,000 a year.

Chesapeake Energy is looking for geological and production technicians, accounting and finance professionals, engineers and technicians, drilling personnel, and much more. Chesapeake had 20 percent job growth last year. The most common jobs are on drilling rigs: floorman — roughnecks who connect and disconnect pipes and earn more than $50,000 a year — and toolpusher — the rig manager.

Devon Energy is looking for professionals in engineering, IT, petrophysics, accounting and other fields at its Oklahoma City headquarters. Devon's most common jobs are lease operator and engineer, which average $81,000 and $188,000 respectively.

QuikTrip is heading into their busiest season and hiring to fill part-time store positions, full-time assistant manager positions, and full- and part-time bakery or commissary positions. The most common jobs here are the ones you'd expect: store manager, which pays nearly $70,000, and relief assistant.

If you apply, be sharp. These four companies had 372,000 applicants last year.

City National Bank Needs Entry-Level Bankers

City National Bank is looking for entry-level bankers with sales experience in numerous branches around the state.

Bankers will open accounts, take loan applications and perform other customer service work. The jobs call for two years of experience meeting sales goals along good communication and computer skills. Pay is $10-$11 an hour plus sales incentives. City National is also seeking people for various jobs in Lawton.

West Hiring for Tulsa Call Center Jobs

West Corporation is hiring more than 90 customer service workers at its Tulsa call center.

The company lists openings for customer service reps, customer care professionals and customer care professionals with insurance licenses. They will earn $12 to $14.50 an hour helping callers with insurance claims.
